Nintex Workflow adds a drag-and-drop workflow designer, connectivity and advanced workflow features to the Microsoft SharePoint document management and collaboration platform, empowering business users and IT professionals to automate business processes as easily as using a web browser.

Nintex Workflow 2010 builds on SharePoint 2010 platform improvements, such as the Fluent ribbon interface, reusable workflows, site workflows, content type workflows, InfoPath forms and the ability to export workflows to Visual Studio® 2010. Nintex Workflow 2010 can be easily extended and customized with User Defined Actions, which allows workflow segments to be packaged and shared within other workflows and custom workflow actions developed in Visual Studio.

The release announcement was made at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference which commenced in Washington DC in July 2010. The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference was chosen as the announcement venue to acknowledge the role partners have had in the success and ongoing development of Nintex Workflow. A close relationship with Microsoft was fundamental in affording Nintex early access to Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and ensured Nintex was able to tightly integrate Nintex Workflow with SharePoint 2010.

“Nintex Workflow 2010 builds on the workflow capabilities in SharePoint 2010 and helps make simple or complex processes more efficient,” said Jared Spataro, director for SharePoint at Microsoft Corp.

SharePoint 2010 was launched on the 12th May 2010 and is Microsoft’s latest release of the hugely successful SharePoint range, which has become their largest ever selling server product. Kofax Capture 9.0 was released in January 2010. Kofax will be used to accelerate business processes by efficiently capturing high quality images of paper documents and forms into SharePoint 2010 against the organisations’ information management policies.

Duncan Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Deltascheme, said, “We believe that SharePoint 2010 provides a fully competent, capable and robust solution for organisations to implement a corporate document and records management system. SharePoint 2010 has significant enhancements over previous versions and will cement Microsoft’s dominance in this area. The use of Kofax will provide The Aztec Group with a very flexible, easy to use and cost effective solution to enable paper content across their multiple sites to be quickly scanned and referenced into SharePoint for subsequent processing and retrieval.”

The Aztec Group is a Fund Administrator and operates over multiple sites across Europe. They have experienced all of the traditional issues around managing, accessing and controlling their unstructured content in a distributed environment. Much of their corporate content is currently being held in a paper format, electronically on network file stores or in the corporate email system. As the business has continued to expand with new clients, staff and offices around Europe, the need to manage corporate content effectively has grown significantly.

Why SharePoint 2010

SharePoint 2010 was chosen as it was recognised as the industry standard for document management. Aztec decided to implement version 2010 as it is:

cost effective and low risk

functionally very rich

highly scalable

easy to use

able to deliver good integration with Office and Outlook

compliant with their strategy to standardise on Microsoft products and technologies.

Why Deltascheme

Having completed a formal procurement process Deltascheme was selected to work with Aztec as their implementation partner due to their:

extensive expertise and track record in implementing document and records management systems

in‐depth knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint (Microsoft Gold Partner)

competitive pricing

implementation methodology for successfully delivering the overall solution

completeness of solution, offering a range of additional products and services for document scanning, workflow and data migration, etc. to deliver a total solution to Aztec.

With our specialisation in delivering ECM and BPM solutions using SharePoint and Kofax, we have developed a sophisticated Export Connector to link Kofax Capture and SharePoint. This has been deployed across a number of client sites managing hundreds and thousands of scanned images into SharePoint repositories.

The Export Connector is is now certified for use with SharePoint 2010.

Export Connector Unique Features

We have developed the Export Connector to work specifically with SharePoint and within a Document and Records Management setting. Features include.

‘Offline Mode’ enables the Site URL and Library to be dynamically linked to Kofax Capture Fields. It is therefore possible to release to different Sites and Libraries using Business Rules defined in the validation script.

Documents can be released to existing SharePoint folders, or have the release script create new folders on the fly. Folder names can be build dynamically using a combination of Kofax Capture fields or static values.

‘Offline Mode’ enables the Content Type to be dynamically linked to a Kofax Capture Field.

Deltascheme Upload Web Service provides an advanced document release using a custom Web Service installed on the SharePoint Server. This Web Service can be customised to perform additional tasks such as the updating of line of business applications with the document URL. It also provides a robust mechanism for the upload of very large documents (>150MB).

Create document filename using Kofax Capture and static values.

Link SharePoint Columns to Kofax Capture values including concatenate multiple values to create new values.

More information

For more information about implementing and using the Export Connector, contact Deltascheme.
