The Deltascheme Request for Information (RFI) Handling Solution is a case management framework build entirely on SharePoint and is deployed as a web solution package.

Case management can typically be a complex system to get right, but through many years implementing case management solutions and our experience with SharePoint, we have built a case management framework that can be as simple or complex as you like. Since it is based on SharePoint and not 3rd party software, it is highly configurable and easy to use.

The RFI solution has been built to provide a SharePoint solution to manage requests for information relating to

Freedom of Information Act (FOI)
Data Protection Act
Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)
Complaints Management

…and any other request for information and case issues that you can think of.

Benefits of the solution are

Auto Case File Creation. Automatically create a case file with predefined rules applying to it depending on the legislation the enquiry relates to. This ensures the right information is collected at the start of the process and correct time lines are followed.

Manage Costs. Manage the expenses and costs associated with an RFI. Dependant on the type of legislation, different costs may apply to the RFI.

Manage Timelines. Automatically manage time-lines dependant on whether the enquiry relates to the DPA, FoI or EIR legislation. This includes managing extensions if it is deemed by the Data Controller to be in the public interest.

Run Parallel Workflows. Manage parallel workflows if a request requires information from several different departments.

Reporting. Provide reporting on all RFIs across the organisation, detailing what was completed within the allocated timeframe and identifying those that fell outside of it.

Control Processes. Control and ensure the right processes are followed with an auditable log of activities.

Security. Automatic creation of roles and security enabling strict control of access and privileges to controlled information.

Help. Have help information available to users when they need it.

SharePoint 2010 and K2

The new support for claims-based authentication between SharePoint and K2 makes configuration a breeze. K2 is leveraging Outlook Solutions to surface K2 work items in Outlook. Investments in K2 today leverage the new capabilities in SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010.

“K2 has been working very closely with the SharePoint 2010 team, since shortly after the Office 2007 release, to ensure campatibility K2 releases will be ready as soon as possible after Microsoft goes to market with its next-generation software,” said Olaf Wagner, senior vice president for product management at K2. “When we deliver this new set of K2 capabilities that leverage Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 features, K2 customers can upgrade free and we’ll offer tools to make migration seamless.”
