What is new in K2 Version 4.5

Both K2 blackpearl 4.5 and K2 blackpoint 4.5 now feature a new Web-based K2 Designer for SharePoint and Office-like K2 Studio designer for faster and more intuitive application design. K2 blackpearl’s other application designer, K2 Designer for Visual Studio now supports Visual Studio 2008 SP1.

Other new or updated platform highlights:

K2 Inline Functions allow users to build complex logic and calculations with simple drag-and-drop tools.
K2 View Flow is improved to give users a graphical, real-time view into the status of any step in the process. For every action taken along the path of the workflow, audit information is available so users know what decisions were made and who made them.
The K2 ADO.NET Data Provider, K2 SmartObjects and runtime components have been enhanced, so complexity is reduced and developers can build more sophisticated .NET applications that make use of data across systems and organizations.
K2 Process Portals are SharePoint sites that provide a one-stop location for access to information and management of processes. Reports included on the site provide deep visibility into process performance and can help uncover bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Microsoft 2010 Product Support

Microsoft will be releasing Visual Studio 2010 shortly, with other 2010 products to follow in the coming months. K2 is committed to provide support for specific 2010 products within 90 days of their release. These products include:

The K2 blackpearl 101 course provides a hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of K2 blackpearl. Instructor led exercises will have attendees creating simple business solutions over the duration of the course. In addition to the workflow the course will empower users to manage line of business data through SmartObjects and cover advanced SharePoint integration.

Target Audience

The 101 course is appropriate for users from all areas of the business who need to gain hands on experience of K2 blackpearl and how it can address your business requirements. Currently offered as either Developer focused or Business focussed training, please note that this differentiation is to ensure that the course is delivered in accordance to the attendees skill set. The course agenda remains the same for both audiences, but the level of content and comprehension is targeted at the appropriate audience.

K2 blackpearl updates released

K2 have announced a new version of K2 blackpearl (0807, 4.8210.3.0), including support for installation on Windows 2008 and SQL Server 2008, was released this week. An update for existing customers was also released that containsed a number of hot fixes. Customers should download this update from the K2 Customer Portal.

K2 blackpoint updates are anticipated later this month (Aug 09)
